  1. WELCOME TO THE CACHET 1.0 DEMO (CD-ROM VERSION)
  2.  
  3. In order to run this demo, you will need to drag the archive file "Cachet_Demo" 
  4. to your Macintosh hard drive, unpack the Cachet program files,  and install 
  5. the EfiColor Processor in your system folder.  Here's how:
  6.  
  7. 1.  Drag the archive file 'Cachet_Demo' to your Macintosh hard drive.
  8. 2.  Double-click on its icon.  
  9. 3.  When the Extractor dialog appears, click the 'Extract' button.
  10. 4.  After the Cachet files are unpacked, you will see a file and a folder: the 
  11. Cachet program folder, and the EfiColor Processor.
  12. 5.  Drag the EfiColor Processor to the top level of your System folder.  The 
  13. Cachet program will not run unless you complete this step.
  14. 6.  You may dispose of the archive file.  It is no longer needed.
  15. 7.  To view the demo, double-click on the Cachet Demo icon.

  17. The Cachet Demo works just like Cachet 1.0 
  18. except that it cannot save, print, or separate images.

  21. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
  22. In order to view the Cachet demo on your machine, you will need:
  23.  
  24. - A member of the Mac II or Quadra families, with math co-processor
  25. - 8-bit or 24-bit color video card
  26. - 13" or larger color monitor
  27. - System 6.0.5, 6.0.7, 7.0, or 7.0.1, with 32-bit Quickdraw
  28. - At least 5 megabytes of RAM (8 preferred)
  29. - 2-4 megabytes of free disk space for image manipulation, or more, depending
  30.   on the size of the images that you will open.

  33. SAMPLE AND REFERENCE IMAGES: RESTRICTED RIGHTS
  34.  
  35. You have a non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use the digital reference 
  36. and sample images supplied with this demo solely as onscreen images that
  37. aid your evaluation of this software.  If you wish to print or duplicate these 
  38. images or use them for any purpose other than as a reference image for the
  39. software, you must obtain a license permitting such use from the owners 
  40. of these images.  Title and copyright to the software, reference images, 
  41. accompanying documentation and any copy made by you remain with EFI 
  42. or its suppliers.

  45. TROUBLESHOOTING
  46.  
  47. If, when you double-click on the Cachet Demo icon, you get the message 
  48. "Eficolor could not be initialized because of an internal error," it probably 
  49. means that you did not put the EfiColor Processor file at the top level of
  50. your system folder.  Move the processor there and try again.
  51.  
  52. If, when you double-click on the Cachet Demo icon, you are asked to "Select
  53. folder containing EfiColor Database," it means that you did not put the 
  54. EfiColor DB folder in the same folder as the Cachet Demo program.  Move 
  55. the EfiColor DB folder to this location and try again.
  56.  
  57. As this is a demo program, it cannot print or save files, or make
  58. separations. In order to perform these functions you will need to order a 
  59. copy of Cachet.
